In second grade, a boy told me that girls couldn't draw. I didn't argue; I just went to my room and started a twenty-five year obsession, thousands of hours alone with a sketchbook, deconstructing the world into blocks and squares. Today I paint the flesh and bone of the Midwest from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
